Lithium-ion battery packs and the battery charge profile

Products affected
VR-7 and VR-5 beds when their battery packs are next replaced.
What has happened
Lead-acid battery packs for VR-series beds are being replaced by 24 V lithium-ion packs, which last longer and weigh 4.1 kg less. Lead-acid packs remain available until 31 December 2026 for beds that cannot yet be updated.
A lithium-ion pack needs a different charging profile. Controller firmware 4.10, released in the UK on 2 June 2025, adds the profile. The default remains lead-acid, so the profile must be selected whenever a lithium-ion pack is fitted.
What you need to do
- Fit lithium-ion packs only to beds running controller firmware 4.10 or later.
- After fitting a pack, select Settings › Battery › Charge profile › Lithium-ion, and check that the panel shows the pack charging.
- Dispose of lead-acid packs through your usual waste battery route, or return them to us with the exchange form.
